“To make Tanahun a sustainable tourism destination where culture, nature, and community development grow together.”
Tanahun Tourism Promotion Society (TTPS) is a pioneering tourism organization with over 11 years of continuous service and commitment toward promoting Tanahun as a recognized tourism destination of Nepal. Founded by highly dedicated and motivated Tanahun immigrants engaged in the tourism sector, the Society emerged from a shared vision to uplift Tanahun through tourism-driven development.
Over the years, TTPS has faced challenges with determination, built partnerships, and laid a strong foundation for sustainable tourism. With a long journey of struggle behind and greater aspirations ahead, the Society remains committed to placing Tanahun firmly on Nepal’s tourism map, creating opportunities to explore its rich history, breathtaking natural beauty, and diverse cultural heritage.
Tanahun is endowed with extraordinary tourism potential. The district features scenic hills, rivers, rock gardens, caves, forests, and panoramic viewpoints, alongside historically significant sites such as Tanahunsur Durbar, Rising Kot Durbar, Ghiring Kot Durbar, Gurdum Kot Durbar, Mirlongkot, and Bhanubhakta Memorial Park. Spiritually and culturally, Tanahun holds deep importance with sacred sites including Vedavyas Cave, Devghat, Dhorbarahi Temple, Chhabdibarahi, Adhimul, Thanimai, Kadaga Devi Mandir, Kyamin–Kalika, Akala Temple, Chhimkeshwori Devi, Tinkhole Devi, and Chyaban Dham.
Traditional villages such as Bandipur, Ramkot, Hile Kharka, Dharampani, Basantapur, Tutepani, Bayapani, Dumsi Darai, Kyamin, Harspur–Danda Gaun, Dagam, Bhujikot, Gurdum, and Michhurlung reflect authentic rural lifestyles, indigenous cultures, and warm community hospitality. Despite this vast potential, tourism development in Tanahun remains uneven, and many communities have yet to fully benefit. TTPS strongly believes that sustainable, inclusive, and community-centered tourism is essential for preserving heritage and nature while creating long-term economic opportunities.
Vision:
To position Tanahun as a leading and model district for sustainable tourism in Nepal, where natural beauty, cultural heritage, and local identity are preserved, and visitors enjoy safe, meaningful, and memorable experiences rooted in authentic culture, untouched nature, and genuine hospitality.
